Glutathione (GSH) is a tri-peptide antioxidant. It's created in the cell walls by specialized enzymes from the amino acids glycine, cysteine, and glutamic acid. Major research has been conducted by Dr. Albert Crum, Dr. Gustavo Bounous, Dr. Patricia Kongshavn, Dr. Larry Lands, Dr. Wulf Droge and many others. Research on the activity of GSH has been conducted and funded by Immunotec Research, Inc in conjunction with over 125 associated institutions and many other researchers and institutions world wide, resulting in over 180,000 published papers.
Glutathione has a number of related substances, including Glutathione S-Transferase, Glutathione Reductase and Glutathine Peroxidase. These are used in many metabolic functions from anti-oxidation, cell proliferation and nerve function to the RedOx cycle itself. There are many and varied health benefits to increasing the amount of GSH that your cells make and increasing it's activity via the NRF2 gene pathway.

Glutathione is a tri-peptide based on the amino acid Cystine. It is highly bioactive and participates in metabolic processes in every part of the body.
Glutathione's molecular formula is C10H17N3O6S, rendering a molecular weight of 307.33 g/mol, per PubChem.
The molecular formula shows the high concentration of Carbon and Hydrogen atoms present in Glutathione.
